If you have previously read our article on the Andy Warhol decks and love art, the Jean Michel Basquiat boards series can certainly be a nice addition to your collection. We love the whole concept of mixing skateboards and art by the Skateroom who make limited edition decks collaborating with artists such a AI Weiwei, Shepard Fairey, the Andy Warhol foundation, the Jean Michel Basquiat Estate, Paul MCCarthy and many more.
TRD: I wouldn’t want to skate with these boards and damage the artwork. Skaters will hate me for saying this.
Did you know: Jean Michel Basquiat was trilingual in French, English and Spanish by the age of 11 as his father Gerard was Haitian and his mother Mathild Puerto Rican. He also liked to work in an Armani suit that he would wear splattered of paint when he would go out.
