Airbnb is traditionally known as the platform for vacationers looking for a home away from home but is now offering their services to business travelers. The company has launched a new search tool specially catered for working wanderers. What does that mean in practice? These Airbnb dwellings on offer must meet a number of hotel-like criterias in order to be in classified in their business filter.
The apartments or home must have high speed internet, a laptop friendly workspace, toiletries, 24-hour self-check-in (this includes a key lockbox, doorman, keypad, or smart lock), hair dryer, iron and have five-star reviews in more than 60 percent of the listing’s reviews. They must also be pet and smoke free and equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for the security of its guests.
In order to access the Business search filter, all you have to do is add your personal work email to your existing account or create a new account if you wish for work purposes. Once your email is verified you will be able to access the “Business Travel Ready” option in the filter menu.
So for companies looking to give its employees a bit more coziness while they are working away from home, Airbnb Business travel is a welcomed option.
Did you know: According to Airbnb about 50,000 companies made bookings for business travel purposes in 2016. This includes companies such as Google, Soundcloud or Morgan Stanley saving them between 20 to 30 percent compared to traditional hotels.
